The Tonys make me smile...
So did the performance of Knuffle Bunny and trip to the museum today with a girlfriend, her granddaughter and my daughter. Sitting outside people watching and observing the girls enjoy interactive works of art. And the huge waffle cone with mint chocolate chip ice cream my friend bought me at Bruster’s today. Taking a 3 mile walk (and talk) with another friend this morning was also successful. And the visit with a close friend and her family yesterday. And going to a craft show and for a delicious lunch with her while leaving the husbands and kids at home to fend for themselves. And the most amazing ice cream from Jeni’s in Decatur yesterday. Maybe the walk this morning cancelled out the two ice creams, maybe not. But I wouldn’t trade these experiences for anything. I am learning that although I am exhausted - honestly feel like I ran a marathon (something I know I will never truly experience) - I did what I had to do to keep myself going this weekend. I didn’t say “no” to anyone that called or contacted me to go out. Even when I thought I’d prefer to isolate and wallow. Now I am planning to snuggle in bed with my 8 year old and watch musical numbers and award speeches until we fall asleep. Tomorrow is another day, and zoo - here we come! Tired is definitely better than depressed! I’ll take it for now.
